How To Add Mouse Over Text To Your Widgets

Have you ever wondered how to make a mouse over text for your widgets or banners on your websites? What about tracking the hits from those same widgets. Its not as difficult as you may think. Have you been tracking your campaigns and tweaking what is working or what is not? Keeping track of your marketing campaigns is sooo important so if your not doing it now you need to start.
When I first got started working online I was just happy if my links worked. The problem was that I had no idea which campaigns were driving the traffic.
For SBI owners, 5th Pillar Club members, and Renegade Marketer members the tracking module is easy to use. I'll show some examples of how to create a mouse over text for both systems below.
Anyway I've been playing around with some of the coding on the widgets that I use and studying the HTML code from other widgets. What an awesome feeling it is when you tweak here and there and it actually works.
These mouse over texts examples are not for those obnoxious pop up, in your face, you've got to see this form or ad. I find those really annoying but that's just me. These are simple one line texts that you can, with some copywriting brainstorming, add to your widgets so when a visitor puts their mouse over your banner the text appears.
Example #1 Site Build It Recession Buster Monthly Option
If you are a Site Build It owner or 5th Pillar Club member go into the Snippit It Build It! module grab the code for the Special Promotions.
![]() |
In order to track it; go to the tracking module and highlight the code. Place the code between the quotes of the first URL.
Special Note: If you aren't promoting this payment option on your site or in your marketing you might want to start. My conversion rates have doubled since adding this widget. It seems that people would prefer to pay $29.99/mo. Rather than $299.00/yr.
Example # 2 Attraction Marketers Manifesto Special Report
For Renegade Marketer System owners. The mouse over text process is the same as above except you want to go into the back office of the Renegade System and set up your tracking code. Be sure to name it something memorable or make notes to yourself about each tracking code so you know what is working, what is not working, and what content contains the link.
Notice that this code is a little different from the Site Build It! Code. It already has the < div in it.
I named this sbwidget reminding me that its my side bar widget.
Now I'm going to show you how to make that open in a new window so you don't send your visitor off your site.
All you have to do is add: target=”_blank” after your URL. Be sure to click the space bar once after the end quote:
That's all there is to it. Now go to the right nav bar on this page to see what it looks like.
You don't have to click on it just hover the mouse over the image.
Success has a simple formula: do your best, and people may like it. Sam Ewing
